NCOJ opens November Season with ‘Vivaldi’s Gloria’
When the National Chorale of Jamaica (NCOJ) closes out its November season on Sunday, November 19, it will showcase its musical diversity once more with pieces by Italian violinist and composer Antonio Vivaldi.
The Hope United Church in Kingston will host the concerts, which are sponsored by Sir Kenneth and Lady Hall. The first afternoon performance is set for 4 p.m., while the second is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Mezzo-soprano Christine MacDonald and soprano Yanique Leiba will sing in the composer’s well-known piece, Vivaldi’s Gloria. Musical Conductor Winston Ewart will lead the Chorale, and Stephen Shaw Naar will serve as keyboard accompanist.
