This year, the National Chorale of Jamaica (NCOJ) proudly awards its Medal of Excellence to six outstanding individuals who have shaped the nation’s artistic and cultural landscape:

• Earl Jarrett (CEO, Jamaica National Group) – A steadfast champion of the arts.
• Donald Banks (posthumously) – Former NCB chairman and passionate advocate for cultural growth.
• Christine MacDonald – Celebrated contralto and protégé of the late Dr. Olive Lewin.
• Hernal L. Hamilton – Legendary tenor, enchanting audiences since the 1970s.
• Jasmin Holness – Soprano and retired agricultural scientist.
• Dr. J.S. Geddes – Geologist and devoted chorale member for over 50 years.

Since its launch in 2015—with bass-baritone Willard White as its first honoree—the Medal of Excellence has recognized those who elevate Jamaica’s musical heritage.
